Summaries for act 3

Act 3 scene 1- Mercutio, Benvolio, Romeo, and Tybalt all meet up in the streets. Tybalt insults Romeo but he stays calm. Mercutio on the other hand gets mad and starts fighting Tybalt. Romeo tries to seperate them but Tybalt then stabs Mercutio. Then Romeo wants to fight with Tybalt and then kills him. Romeo is then banished from Verona and everyone wants to kill him.

Act 3 scene 2- Juliet still doesn't know about Romeo getting kicked out of Verona. She first thinks he has been killed when the nurse comes in. When she finds out that her cousin has died she is glad that he dies because if Tybalt didn't die then Romeo would be dead. Then she realizes she wont be able to see Romeo since he has been kicked out. So the nurse promises that he can come over to say goodbye.

Act 3 scene 3- Romeo is hiding out at Friar Laurence's threatening to kill himself. The nurse goes to visit the Friar so they can figure out a way they can see each other. He comes up with the idea that they will get to spend the night together. And then Romeo will run away from Verona but then they will find a way to get him back and make their marriage public. Romeo then runs off.

Act 3 scene 4- Paris is still hanging around asking if he can marry Juliet. Lord Capulet finally agrees because he thinks to himself Juliet's grief over Tybalt has been so bad that maybe the marriage will help. 

Act 3 scene 5- Romeo and Juliet have their first night together. After Romeo leaves Lady Capulet comes in a tells her she will be marring Paris in two days. She is angry because she doesn't want to marry Paris. So then, her father threatens to disown her because he has done such a nice thing arranging this marriage, and she doesn't want to. Lady Capulet isn't happy either, and nurse say Paris is a better man to marry anyway. So Juliet goes to Friar Laurence for help.
